The Story -
Too many women are affected today by cancer.....changing relationships, changing lifestyles, turning families upside down and leaving them to live in a life with fear of the unknown.
I have had several friends affected by this dis-ease and I feel more empowered today to be able to do a small something to help an individual affected.
Most of you know that Bill and Wendy closed the brewery down in December of 2022. One month after that closing, Wendy received word that another special lady in her life was forced to fight this battle....again.....way too young. It broke my heart to hear that Alisha was affected and at that point I felt hopeless to do anything. Not anymore.....
The plan? A Cancer Awareness Beer, made especially for Alisha BY ALISHA!!!
I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS!!
I asked Alisha if she would be interested in brewing a beer with me (Wendy) to spread awareness for cancer month (October). She excitedly agreed.
That was the easy part.....The September before we closed, I had met Alisha's sister for the first time....another special soul!! So I reached out to her, seeing as she lives on the east coast, to see if she would be able to join us for the brew. Erin was to be a surprise!! Along with Alisha's mother Jonelle.
This past weekend we let the cat out of the bag and informed Alisha of the true plan, with her sister on FaceTime. Alisha's heart is broken being so far from her sister ..... but things like this? The distance makes the get togethers all that more special. I, together with Alisha, her sister, mother and few other friends and family will be brewing up Alisha's favorite style beer for the October Breast Cancer Awareness month....save this date for the release of her beer!!
Proceeds will go to Alisha.
