The Wautoma Area School District (WASD) remains committed to ensuring our students and staff have adequate spaces for learning and teaching. However, state funding is not enough to cover our district-wide facility needs, spanning more than 320,000 square feet across four buildings.
After analyzing the community survey feedback where 70% of respondents supported making little to no investment in Riverview Elementary School, the WASD School Board unanimously adopted a capital (facilities) referendum question not to exceed $39.8 million. This referendum would impact every building and every child, and would include:
- Closing Riverview and restoring the property to greenspace
- Addressing necessary district-wide capital maintenance
- Constructing secure entries at Redgranite Elementary Parkside School, and the High School
- Converting Parking into an Early Childhood through 5th grade elementary school
- Adding 6-8th grade addition to Wautoma High School
